See the seasons change...enjoy exquisite autumn colors when the cottonwoods change to a brilliant yellow against the deep blue Colorado skies. -
The Poudre River Trail Corridor is a bird watchers paradise. There are bald eagles, golden eagles, pelicans, red-tailed hawks, blue herons and more. -
There are decorative red granite markers every 1/4 mile and award-winning story posts to guide your way. -
The backdrop is the expansive views of the peaks of Rocky Mountain National Park -
We welcome volunteers to help us with trail maintenance and events. -
The Poudre River meanders through the high prairie in Weld County Colorado between Greeley and Windsor -
Informative and educational signs are located along the trail to help you learn about the wildlife and the history of the area.

About Poudre River Trail Corridor, Inc.
For more than 15 years, Poudre River Trail Corridor, Inc., a local non-profit, has managed a cooperative effort with the City of Greeley, the Town of Windsor and Weld County to develop the Poudre River Trail.
Poudre River Trail Board of Directors
The Poudre River Trail Corridor Board was created by the City of Greeley, Weld County, and the Town of Windsor via an intergovernmental agreement. This board was then incorporated into the Poudre River Trail Corridor Inc. in January of 1997.
This group of volunteers and staff from the member governments put forth countless hours to coordinate construction projects, land acquisitions, fundraising efforts, and community education programs about the trail. Without the dedication of those involved in PRTC Inc. the Poudre Trail would not be the incredible trail you see today.

Funding
Nearly $8-million was raised through grants from Great Outdoors Colorado, Colorado State Trails, and North Front Range MPO, with matching contributions from local foundations, businesses, individuals and governments. The Trail Board continues to oversee maintenance and additional development.
The History
The Poudre River Trail Corridor is one portion of the Cache la Poudre River National Heritage Area which includes forty miles of the Cache la Poudre River, starting from where it flows out of the Roosevelt National Forest, northwest of Fort Collins. The National Heritage Area extends east of Greeley to the confluence with the South Platte River.
This National Heritage Area commemorates the significant contribution of the Poudre River to the development of water law in the Western United States and to the evolution of highly complex water delivery systems which are an important part of the economy of the Northern Colorado region.
The Future
Larimer County, the Town of Timnath, and the City of Fort Collins have all taken up the challenge to connect the remaining gap between the Poudre River Trail through Weld County and the existing Poudre River Trail through Larimer County. The long range plan for the Poudre River Trail in Weld County is to extend Southeast to the confluence of the Poudre and South Platte Rivers, where it will connect to trails in Evans and eventually connect to trail systems that run as far South as Colorado Springs.
