The entry gateposts still exist on this entrance to a World War II United States Army German Prisoner of War camp. Although virtually no physical evidence remains of the camp, the US Army held German prisoners of war at this site until the end of World War II. According to local landowners, some POWs returned to settle in the area after the war. The trail experience at this site will include interpretive locations so that trail goers can understand more about the impact of World War II in Weld County and Colorado.
